1. Cyberfox から Firefox に戻したらクラッシュしまくる
ChatWork のビデオ通話が Cyberfox で利用できなかった。そこで、アップデートを機に再び Firefox 36 に戻ってきた。
Cyberfox ではウィンドウをたくさん開いていても、まず落ちることはない。しかし、Firefox にしたら、ガンガン落ちまくった。 (+_+)
2. about:config で保護モードを無効にする
これに対して、Flash Player の保護モードを無効にしたら安定してくれた。少しましになった。
現在は、ロケーションバーに about:config を入力し、
- dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-mode;true
と設定することでも可能。

Protected Mode runs Flash Player as a low integrity process. While that is useful to most Firefox users, some experienced issues that they linked to protected mode.
You can disable the mode in the Firefox configuration. Mozilla plans to disable the mode completely in Firefox 37.
- Type about:config and hit enter.
- Find dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-mode.
- Double-click the preference to set it to true.
The procedure disables protected mode in Firefox. You can verify that this is indeed the case by monitoring Flash process in the Task Manager. If you see plugin-container.exe in the task manager when Flash contents are running it is disabled.
Windows版Firefox 36 BetaほかでFlashの保護モードを無効化する実験が開始へ - Mozilla Flux によると、
…Mozillaが最近Windows上でFirefox 35 Betaを利用するユーザーの一部を対象に実験を行ったところ、保護モードを有効にした場合、クラッシュやハングの率が無効の場合の2倍になることが判明した。
従来、保護モードの解除は、Flashの設定ファイルの変更に加えてOSの再起動も必要という手間のかかるもので、複数のプロファイルを利用している場合はそのすべてに影響が出てしまっていた*1。新機能の実装後は、about:configの設定画面でdom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-modeをtrueにするだけでよくなり、そうした問題が一挙に解決された。
もっとも、本記事の執筆時点で、この機能の実装は不十分である*2。
ただし、基本 Flash Player はなるべくブロックするようにしている。
追記(2015/2/26): 以前は Flash Player の設定ファイルで保護モードを無効にしていた。上記の方法が不十分だった場合、下記の方法を試すと良い。
また、次のアドオンを併用することも勧める。
3. about:config の値をリセットする
追記(2015/2/26): これまで Firefox の about:config で設定した値はリセットすること。
